From Talihina go South on 271 to Honobia on Bigfoot Trail.144 East to State 259 north to Hwy 1, then west on Talimena Drive to Talihina (77 miles). This roadway is one of the backbones for motorists to enjoy the scenic magnetism that is unique to the Kiamichi Country of Oklahoma. Hwy 259 is the only roadway that provides access to the three Oklahoma Units of the Ouachita National Forest and many of the State Parks are located in this region.

The drive begins at the junction of Hwy 271 in Talihina to State Road 1 in the Ouachita National Forest about 8 miles east of Talihina. Drive Hwy 1 through Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area to Queen Wilhelmina State Park (Restaurant) and Back to Talihina. (108 miles)
From Talihina East on 63-1 to Hwy 2 to Wilburton through Robbers Cave Park (Restaurant) to Hwy 31 East through Kinta to Hwy 82 South over Sansbois Mountains to Hwy 270 West about ½ mile to 82 South at Red Oak to Talihina.
